About D.L. Jackson
Writer. Author. Thinker. Storyteller.
I was born and raised as a Midwest girl in Kansas City, KS. I always had a connection to all things strange from a young age. I remember feeling like I was unlike anyone around me. I learned to use that uniqueness to create worlds, characters, and journeys that readers could enjoy. I have taken may detours to writing however. My day jobs have ranged from middle school English Language Arts Teacher, to Elementary School Principal. I am currently a professor and I can't wait to have more time to teach and write. But I have another really important job, and that is being a mommy to a toddler boy and an infant daughter. They keep me on my toes and extremely busy. I love being a wife to my creative artistic husband, who is a barber. I have completed several degrees. It has taken a lot of time-management, determination, and perseverance. I want to share all that I have learned while obtaining advanced degrees such as an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction, a doctorate in Educational Leadership, and a certification in Editing.
